1 x 2 soccer picks today, Best Premier League daily

Editor’s Note: During the Women’s World Cup we offered suggestions for good value picks on DraftKings. We’re going to give it a trial run now with the Premier League starting today. Here we go…

Premier League matchday 15 has some marquee games. Manchester United host Tottenham (welcome back, Jose Mourinho!). The Merseyside Derby between Liverpool and Everton could be Marco Silva’s final match with the Toffees. And a match with major relegation implications takes place as Southampton host Norwich City.

Here’s a look at some top daily fantasy EPL plays today on DraftKings.

Jamie Vardy ($9,400) – Vardy leads the Premier League in goals this season with 13.  Among regular starting forwards today, he’s top in FPP (16.2). However, he’s only the fourth most expensive forward option despite playing a Watford side that has conceded more goals (28) than all but two other teams. Yes, Vardy has been finishing at an absurd clip, but until he regresses to the mean, ride the hot foot against a bottom-feeder.

Danny Ings ($7,300) – Speaking of Southampton…Ingsy has been on a tear recently. Over his last three matches, he’s got three goals and is averaging 15.4 FPP. He’s even throwing some crosses and completed dribbles to the stat sheet.

Teemu Pukki ($6500) – Speaking of conceding goals, have you met our friend Southampton? The Saints have given up 32 this season. While they’ve improved since their embarrassing 9-0 defeat to Leicester, this is still a vulnerable backline. Norwich will press and if they do find the net, Pukki is the best bet to score it.

James Maddison ($9,500) – If you don’t go with Vardy, then take a look at Maddison. He leads Leicester with 19.1 FPP. Over his last 10 games, he hasn’t produced less than 12.2 fantasy points in any match. Plus, Watford at home.

Daniel James ($6,500) – This could be an open, feisty match which suits James well. He’s only gone under 10 fantasy points once since the October international break (and that was 9.5 last match).

Richarlison ($6,000) – Liverpool isn’t keeping clean sheets. After a poor start, Richarlison has two goals in his last three matches. If Everton score, he’s the most likely candidate to do so right now.

Trent Alexander-Arnold ($7,100) – Just because it’s obvious doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider it. Out of all regular starters at any position today, TAA is second in FPP (18.4). When you consider the price to production, it’s still very good value. Pair him with a less expensive defender who has a favorable match-up.

Ben Chilwell ($5,600) – Chilweel is a crossing machine, with 18 over the past 3 matches. One of those finds Vardy/Maddison’s foot or head and you get an assist too.
